How Do You Think of Unwanted Guests?

without comments

A Said:

Well, guests are nuisance when they go beyond the line. I mean I have never liked unwanted guests. I do not feel at ease when there are outsiders, I mean the guest at home. I have to change my ways of actions, do this, do that, war an artificial smile all the while and what not. I have to act in the way that does not displease them.
Specially I hate guests when they rush into with kids and pets and settle for a week or so.
How about you? What is your take on unwanted guests?
please share.

B Said:

I’ve never had that kind of unwanted guests. If someone were to come to my house to spend a week with PETS, especially, without asking, they’d be shown the door. I don’t allow pets in my house, not even mine or my kids (who are grown). The only guests I have that might spend a week is my grandkids during the summer. They spend many weeks during the summer, going home for the weekends. They come over to ride their 4 and 3 wheelers, play pool in the basement, and help Papa do the yard work to earn cash.

Choices Between Beauty and Brains

without comments

A Said:

I think it would really be a tough question if you would only be given one choice to choose from. I think it would prefer brains more. I think some people would get turned off even how beautiful a person is knowing that the person doesnt have brains. I think i could bare just having brains alone because i know that people doesn’t only get attracted to the physical appearance of a person but they get attracted more to his/her character/personality. I have watched some beauty contest and sometimes i observed some contestants to be attractive but i think they mostly get challenged to the question and answer portion because that is usually the part of the contest where a most of them fail.
I think it would really be nice to have both if it would be possible. hehe. But i think having brains isn’t really that hard because i believe geniuses are either born or made.
How about you?
Do you agree with this too?
Which would you prefer to have? Beauty or Brains? ..

What is education for?

with 2 comments

A Said:

In China, compulsory education, adult education, and professional education have been established and carried out well. But what is education for? What is the purpose of education?

Is it to provide students with the true sense of life, a value system and a set of ideas?

Is it to equip students with the power of knowledge and skills for specific jobs?

Is it to guarantee each student a large income and high social position?

Is it to prepare students to glorify themselves and their families?

So, what is education for in your opinion? And what do you want to get from education?

B Said:

education is for and is a lot of things those that you stated and so much more, i wish i payed more attention in school, my sister “my youngest one” is the smartest out of the bunch prolly cuz she learned what not to do but the 3 oldest of us kids i have 3 sisters so im the only son..but education teaches you a lot of stuff, with out education we wouldnt have what we have today or if we did it wouldnt be nearly as good like today could still be like the 60’s if it wasnt for education..or even the 1920’s..because education shapes ideals and ideals are what makes the person and the person is what makes the future happen.

So, we can easily concentrate our attention on what we are doing.Henceforth it is decided to have such issues than that of anything. If we get up in the early morning, we can finish our work in good time. We can go to bed before midnight and enjoy sound sleep.
If we rise early we can take some physical exercise as well as better air in the fresh morning air. This exercise will improve our health and supply us with a fund of energy that will enable us to do our work during day and it also gives you wonderful respiration forever.

Copycatting or Big Brands?

with 2 comments

A Said:

Would you risk trying unfamiliar yet affordable brands of toiletries so that you can save on your budget since the more popular brands are a lot more expensive? I grew up with the habit to stick with the more known brands since they are suppose to have more quality than other brands, but since I got married, I find myself more willing to try other brands so that I can get more out of my budget. Is it really true? Do the other brands really have less quality just because they are just new in the industry? Would you be willing to try out new brands?

B Said:

Obviously you live here in the US and have fallen prey to gullible advertising. From toothpaste to body wash, simply flip the container over and compare ingredients. A lot of no-name brands arent new in the industry, they just dont blow a bunch of cash on advertising, packaging, nice smell, pretty color, etc that also drive the cost of said product up. Especially in bathroom type products, using the pharmacy brand is BETTER than the big names because the pharmacy (equate, walgreens, etc) have more money for research, which makes the product more effective.

If you died at home, how long would it be before anyone knew?

with 2 comments

A Said:

I was wondering that this morning. I live alone with my two dogs and my children are 1800 miles away. I know my neighbors casually but since they have jobs, no one sees me regularly. My sister emails me sometimes but she’s busy with her own life, again many hundreds of miles away. I go to church sometimes but not regularly enough so that anyone knows me.

I think it would be many days, if not weeks, before someone discovered I died. What about you? Would someone discover your body right away or would it lie there for a long time, like mine?

B Said:

Don’t be so dark, don’t you have anyone who’d call you on a regular basis?
I know for sure I’d get a call from my work the same day, they’d call back the next day but I have no idea how long it would take someone to go and check on me. I have good friends but they are out of town often and we don’t see each other every week. My mom would very worried if I didn’t call her for a long time but she’s in another country…All and all,I’d be probably decomposing by then

When people disagree with you, what will you do?

without comments

A said:

Ive started a certain discussion in which somebody does not like me or my discussion and disagrees with me strongly, but with language I would not like to use, like you make me sick, or puke etc. I usually tend to ignore such comments and go on, for each is entitled to their opinion. However there are ways and ways to disagree without going dirty. I strongly want to write back and tell them so, but it will only create an open war of words and I dont want mylot to become a sounding board for words of war. So I feel I should let go. Have I done right? What would be your reaction to such phrases?

B Said:

I actually think you did the right. It was good of you to let it go. You would just play right into their hand if you stooped down to that person’s level and started replying with similar comments. It would just drag everything and make things more unpleasant. People like that should be ignored.

I haven’t had to deal with something like that on here but I dealt with a somewhat similar situation at work the other day. Some girl decided to attack me verbally for no reason at all. She was causing quite a scene too. I was very, very pissed off and so badly wanted to tell her off but refrained from doing so. I wasn’t going to lower myself and have a shouting match with some immature teenager.

Do You Believe in Angels???

with 2 comments

A said:

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/28364813

I saw this on the news a few days ago but couldn’t find the link to share here. I’ve finally found it. This young lady’s Mom swears the angel saved her daughter’s life. The angel is ONLY visible on the security video even though a few hospital personnel indicated they felt the presence of something that day. This is one of those miracles that I pray is for real!!! Do you believe that angels can come back to take care of those of us in real need???

B said:

I don’t know exactly about angels, although I’ve read different things where we all have our “spirit guides” from the moment we’re born to help us in our life. They aren’t supposed to interfere, but I guess in dire circumstances can help us. Some cultures (like Native American) believe the spirits of our ancestors help us and are always around us. Some who are “sensitive” can actually sense and communicate with their spirit guides all the time, while the rest of us can’t.

I had one incident in my own life that is one of those…mmm…moments. Years and years ago I was crossing the street (large intersection)—the light was changing against me, but still had enough time to cross..so I thought. All of a sudden a car comes careening down full speed ahead…and I froze! I couldn’t move and I now understand why animals are hit. Any minute this car was going to run smack into me and the driver didn’t seem to slow down. Then all of a sudden I felt this gigantic push from behind me, shoving me out of the way to safety. When I looked around to see who had pushed me out of the way…no one there! So someone or something obviously helped me that day
